In 1939, Canadian shipbuilding was nowhere near state of the art in methodology or concepts. The onset of the Second World War saw the shipyards suddenly inundated with construction work of naval ships for Canada and other nations. Incredibly, almost 2,000 ships were ordered between 1939 and 1945 and ranged from yard craft up to destroyers. Profusely illustrated.
